Greetings from Brian Duffy,
On Wednesday, September 5, 2007 I had the honor of escorting 32 WWII veterans
from Louisville International Airport to Washington DC to visit the WWII
Memorial.
The trip was the first from Louisville for the Tri-State Honor Flight
organization. "Honor Flight" was founded in 2005 by Earl Morse to help
facilitate the ability of WWII vets to visit THEIR memorial. I was made aware
of the program at the recent VFW National Convention held in Kansas City. I
knew immediately, that I needed to become part of this noble effort - and help
our warriors of yesteryear see their memorial. The veterans were all from
Northern Kentucky and Southern Ohio. All the veterans traveled free of cost
($250 per veteran) thanks to donations. The 15 escorts "Guardians" proudly
paid their own way to be part of the honor of assisting these heroes.

about the trip...
Enjoy.

Brian Duffy
